The Radio Club has a General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) and Family Radio Service (FRS) practice drill Wednesdays at 9:30-9:45 a.m. on channel 22-0 (channel subject to change). by Mary Larson LW contributor The LW Democratic Club and the Seniors for Peace Club will once again team up to sponsor a protest demonstration outside the Main Gate in front of the Globe on Flag Day, June 14, from 2-4 p.m. The demonstration will focus on the current administration’s increasingly authoritarian policies and actions. This local event will coincide with the “No Kings Day”

The Golden Age Foundation’s (GAF) quarterly battery recycling program will return on Tuesday, July 15, from 10 a.m.noon in the parking lot of Clubhouse 2. GRF ID is required. The GAF will collect the following approved batteries for recycling: alkaline, carbon zinc, nickel cadmium, nickel metal-hydride, lithium ion, lithium metal, silver oxide, button cell batteries and all other dry cell batteries.
