Japanese American Club


The Japanese American Club of Leisure World will meet on June 21, at 11:30 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2. A bento box lunch will be available for $15 for members and $20 for nonmembers During the meeting there will be a demonstration of the Japanese tea ceremony, a cherished tradition that embodies Japanese culture, aesthetics, and hospitality. Residents are welcome to join the Japanese American Club

GAF and Ralphs Community Rewards

GAF and Ralphs Community Rewards


The Golden Age Foundation (GAF) will help residents sign up for the Ralph’s Community Contribution Program in person on Wednesday, June 18, from 9-11 a.m., in the Clubhouse 6 Hospitality Room. The Ralphs Community Contribution Program is an easy way for Leisure World residents to raise money for the GAF, without paying more for groceries. An online account is needed to participate in the program.

Residents can shred sensitive documents on July 8


GOLDEN AGE FOUNDATION The Golden Age Foundation (GAF) will hold a shredding service on Tuesday, July 8, in the Clubhouse 2 parking lot from 10 a.m.-noon. To make sure the shredding service runs smoothly, the GAF asks residents to follow these guidelines: • Do not arrive earlier than 10 a.m. • Place documents to be shredded in paper bags in the passenger seat and stay in the car.

Orange County Mosquito and Vector Control District Public Information Officer Brian Brannon will speak to the Sunshine Club on Friday, June 13, in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 10 a.m. He has worked at Orange County Mosquito and Vector Control District for almost three years and enjoys helping keep OC residents safe from the diseases that vectors can spread in an environmentally safe manner. The LW Community Emergency Response Team(LW CERT) will meet on the third Friday, June 20, at 9 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 9. Note that this meeting will be held one week earlier than the usual monthly meeting. This week’s topic will be on how to shelter in place, presented by LW CERT president Catherine O’Brien. LW ART LEAGUE League's 'Art in Bloom' exhibition receives over 120 submissions Over 120 artwork submissions from 36 artists have been accepted for the club’s “Art in Bloom” exhibition.
