Cribbage Club has new officers


The Cribbage Club meets every Tuesday at noon in Clubhouse 1. Refreshments are served each week from noon-12:15, and anyone arriving by 12:15 is assured a place to play. Brief announcements are made afterward and play begins at 12:30. Each player pays $1, and those finishing in the top four scores are awarded prize money the following week. A total of seven games are played. The Aug. 5 meeting

Aug. 5 brought 33 LW Women’s Golf Club members to the golf course for the weekly tournament. Play for the day was low gross, low net and circle hole in No. 8. Janice Turner landed her ball in the circle. A flight winners: Sophia Kim and Sod Choi, 26, low gross; Linda Herman, Ann Tran and Janice Turner, 25, low net. B flight winners: Grace Choi, 27, low gross; Keiko Sekino, 23, low net.

The American Mahjong Club of Leisure World meets on Mondays from 1-4 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 6, as well as on Wednesdays from 1-4 p.m. in the Clubhouse 1 Lobby. Dress up for beach-themed acoustic show on Aug. 29


LW GONG CLUB The Gong Club will host a summer jam session in Clubhouse 2 on Friday, Aug. 29. Doors open at 6 p.m. for happy hour. The theme is beach casual, and people are encouraged to come dressed in sundresses, beach shorts, crazy sunglasses and wacky beach hats. The best dressed will win a prize. The evening will be filled with acoustic renderings performed by David Brito, Laura Gardner

Garden plots are available for lease. To join, visit the Leisure World website, www.lwsb.com. Navigate to the “Community” tab and then select “Community Gardens Application.” Complete the online form.
