Pinochle is played in Clubhouse 1 every Monday, Thursday and Saturday. The warmup game starts at 11:30 a.m., with the regular game beginning at 12:30 p.m. The club provides cards, score cards, pens, tablets and other equipment. Author and LW resident Dave Silva will discuss his book “Searching for Utopia” on Friday, June 3, at 11 a.m. at Veterans Plaza. The event is part of the LW Library’s monthly AuthorSpeak series. Through the prescient lens of science-fiction, “Searching for Utopia” examines problems past and present that must be overcome if humanity is to protect the planet and establish a brighter tomorrow.

The Leisure World Coin Club will meet Wednesday, June 8, at 1:30 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2. The program will feature a “show and tell” session, during which everyone can show off their favorite part of their collection. Guest dealers will be on hand to buy and sell.
