Forty-three women competed in the Ladies Golf League’s 9-hole tournment play on the first day of summer, June 21. During the tournament, the group competed for low gross, low net and fewest putts. Bocce Ball


The weather was perfect for the Bocce Ball spring season semifinals and finals matches. On June 25, the top four teams competed for the final two slots of the day. The first place winners, for the second season in a row, were Sunday’s team No. 4, Terry Thrift and Vicki Mingus. The second place honors went to Tuesday’s team No. 9, Sal La Scala and Susan Dodson. Amphitheater season opens June 30

Amphitheater season opens June 30


SUMMER UNDER THE STARS The 2022 Amphitheater music festival will start June 30 with a 12-show lineup, promising an eclectic mix of country, rock, pop, soul and blues tribute performers at the 2,500-seat Amphitheater. This is the first full season since the COVID pandemic shut down Leisure World in early 2019. Residents are invited to celebrate summer under the stars at the free weekly concerts.

‘Knives Out’ will be shown tomorrow


Open-air movie nights at the Amphitheater begin June 24 at 8:30 p.m. with “Knives Out.” Six new movies will be shown on the gigantic screen on Friday nights through Sept. 16.
