At the Sept. 11 Photo Arts Club meeting, there were many interesting submissions on the subject sports. Ben Benjamins noted that it was a difficult subject—for commercial purposes, specially trained photographers are assigned to that subject. He noted that if a sport involves a ball, the ball must be in the picture. A fuzzy background might be considered and the expression of faces add extra interest

CDs for Seniors


At the recent CDs for Seniors picnic, the club’s resident barbeque king, Roger Bennet, was so busy bopping to the music that he forgot to check the grill. After that minor set-back, he was back on point and finished off the picnic, providing members with perfectly roasted hot dogs and buns. LW LIBRARY The LW Library’s final AuthorSpeak event of the year will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 3, inside Clubhouse 4. Stephen Witt is the author of two nonfiction books. His newest book, “The Thinking Machine,” is the story of Nvidia’s determined CEO, Jensen Huang, who defied Wall Street to push his radical vision for computing and become one of the wealthiest men alive.

stores and pumps sewage into the sewer system. One northbound lane on Seal Beach Boulevard remains closed for construction. Drivers should exercise caution near the project site, as trucks regularly enter and exit the site. Once completed, the project will replace the Seal Beach Pump Station. The new station will be upgraded to local, state and national codes and have enhanced security measures.
