LW Coin Club


The Coin Club will meet on Oct. 8 at 1 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2. The club meets on the second Wednesday of every month. Members can have coins viewed and questions answered. Time is allowed to view coins, followed by a business meeting and an education session. Brad Seidel, a speaker for the American Numismatic Association, will discuss the history behind the use of nickel in U.S. coinage.

LW GENEALOGY WORKSHOP The Golden Age Foundation (GAF) donation of $6,600 to the Leisure World Genealogy Workshop has come just in time to help family history sleuths continue to discover their family roots. Imagine trying to research family history sites with aging donated computers using an operating system that is soon to expire. That’s the position the Genealogy Workshop was in this summer

LW LIBRARY The LW Library’s final AuthorSpeak event of the year will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 3, inside Clubhouse 4. Stephen Witt is the author of two nonfiction books. His newest book, “The Thinking Machine,” is the story of Nvidia’s determined CEO, Jensen Huang, who defied Wall Street to push his radical vision for computing and become one of the wealthiest men alive.

GRF SPECIAL EVENTS Residents are invited to a Harvest Festival on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Leisure World Community Gardens, located at 13101 Nassau Drive. This free event will offer live entertainment and outdoor activities. Enjoy live music from the Wimberley Bluegrass Band, a garden-wide scavenger hunt open to all ages, lawn games such as cornhole and Connect Four

The Seal Beach Guitar Ensemble will hold its fourth annual concert on Oct. 11 at 3 p.m. in Clubhouse 4. All are welcome. The ensemble has been working hard to make this concert possible, and the performers are excited to show audience members the culmination of their efforts.
