I-405 IMPROVEMENT PROJECT The 405 Express Lanes are on track to open Friday, Dec. 1, transforming the way that Leisure Worlders travel southbound on the 405 Freeway. The new express lanes will replace existing carpool lanes. The lanes were added thanks to the Orange County Transportation Authority’s I-405 Improvement Project. GOLDEN AGE FOUNDATION The Golden Age Foundation’s (GAF) battery recycling event will return on Tuesday, Nov. 21, from 10 a.m.-noon in the Clubhouse 2 parking lot. GRF ID is required. The GRF Stock Transfer office tracks escrow sales each month to monitor sales of units in Leisure World. Home sales provide an important component to GRF revenue streams. With the sale of every unit, there is a one-time Trust Property Use Fee that is directly channeled into the GRF reserve fund. The GRF reserve fund covers the costs of future maintenance, replacement or repair of major assets.

GRF HOLIDAY EVENTS This year’s Christmas tree lighting hosted by the GRF Recreation Department, will be held Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 4:30 p.m. at Veterans Plaza. Come sing along to hymns by The Jolly Holidays Carolers of Los Angeles, who will lead the holiday merrymaking alongside Santa and LW’s elves (from the LW Theater Club). The fabulous tree lighting will take place after the performance.

HANUKKAH Rabbi will speak at GRF's Festival of Lights on Dec. 7 On Thursday, Dec. 7, at 4:30 p.m. at Veterans Plaza, Rabbi Aron David Berkowitz of the Chabad of West Orange County will share the story of Hanukkah and its meaning for Jew and Gentile alike. Musical entertainment will help celebrate the Festival of Lights prior to lighting the menorah. It is an opportunity for the LW community,
