American Legion Auxiliary Raffle Committee members Phyllis Pierce and Doris Dack have received many generous donations from local businesses for the American Legion Auxiliary Fashion Show. Some of the items that will be in the raffle are Gorjana jewelry and a $150 gift card, champagne brunch for four at Schooner or Later, Naples Rib Co. dinner, a boat tour of Huntington Harbor for 4-6 people, Omaha

Vietnamese American Club


The Vietnamese American Club (VAC) will celebrate Tet, the Vietnamese New Year, year of the dragon, on Sunday, Feb. 25, in Clubhouse 4 at 4:30 p.m. The program will feature the Dance of the Dragon, Vietnamese dancing and music, plus typical Vietnamese food. California Highway Patrol Officer Mitchell Smith will give a presentation to the Sunshine Club titled “Age Well, Drive Smart” on Friday, Feb. 16, in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 10 a.m. Research by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety shows that senior citizens involved in traffic collisions tend to be more vulnerable than younger people, meaning that seniors suffer more severe injuries.
