Filipino Association Bingo
The Filipino Association of Leisure World and the American Legion Post 327 hosts bingo games every Sunday in Clubhouse 2. Games sales start at 1 p.m., and play starts at 1:30. Games will be over by 4.

Relatively Speaking
On June 3, Mutual 5 resident Anna Derby spent the day at Disneyland with her two granddaughters, Alexandra and Rebekah Raphlings to enjoy grandma (halmonie in Korean) and granddaughters bonding day.
It was a priceless, precious time. The trio went on many adventurous rides together. Derby’s granddaughters are currently on summer break from college.
They ended the day with a Korean dinner

GAF AND RALPHS REWARDS
Joe Wierzbicki (l-r) received help signing up for the Ralphs Community Rewards program from Diana Lambert and Fara McCartney. GAF Board members will be in Clubhouse 6 from 9-11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, to assist residents in signing up for the program in person. Those who are not able to sign up in person can sign up online at www. ralphs.com/i/community/community-contribution-program.
Sunshine Club
Falck Ambulance Community Educator Zachary Kim will be the Sunshine Club’s guest speaker on Friday, July 5, in Clubhouse 3, Room 2 at 10 a.m.
Kim will talk about fall prevention and when to call 911.
Keeping a safe home, being mindful of different hazards that can present in the home, and knowing when to contact 911 are crucial. All residents are encouraged to attend this event.
The
Weekend Night Dance: Ballroom Dance
The Velvetones Ballroom Dance Orchestra will perform Sunday, July 7, at 6 p.m. in Clubhouse 4. The Velvetones are Leisure World’s own professional big band, playing Big Band Swing and jazz standards—music for dreaming and dancing—under the direction of Jeff Plum. The Velvetones perform at Clubhouse 4 on the first and third Sunday evenings at 6 p.m.
Hui O Hula
Hui O Hula offers Hawaiian dance lessons twice a week, on Tuesday and Thursday, starting at 1:15 p.m. All are welcome. Call 562-431-2242 for class information.
In class this week, hula dancers are putting together an entertainment program to honor the veterans at the Filipino Associaiton of Leisure World’s (FALW) annual veterans picnic. On July 6, dancers and FALW members will honor veterans
LW Art League
The LW Art League will meet Tuesday, July 9, in Clubhouse 4 at 7 p.m. The demonstration artist will be Carmen Leslie, the Art League’s secretary. Leslie is an art teacher and has been conducting workshop classes in the Art Room of Clubhouse 4 on Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. She teaches and demonstrates portrait painting with a live model in the workshop classes.
