The Japanese American Club will hold its annual picnic on Friday, Aug. 16, at 11:30 a.m. in the picnic area at Clubhouse 1. Guest speaker Adrienne Rosenfeld will discuss healthy living. Teriyaki chicken, Korean barbecue beef, watermelon, water and tea will be provided. The club asks that those attending bring side dishes or a dessert to complement the main course. There is no charge for people

EARTHQUAKE PREP The LW Community Emergency Response Team (LW CERT) will hold a training class on what to do after a disaster strikes. The 4.4 earthquake that struck the greater Los Angeles area—and was felt in LW—on Monday is a reminder of the importance of preparing for an emergency. GOLDEN AGE FOUNDATION The Golden Age Foundation will sponsor a Walk & Roll-ATh on on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. starting in the Clubhouse 6 parking lot. Participants must pre-register (see form below). Fill it out and drop it off at the metal box in Clubhouse 6, or people can mail them to PO Box 2369, Seal Beach, CA 90740. This group was created, organized and led by Ken Notorleva. Unfortunately, Ken died June 1, but not before he left us wonderful memories of himself and his Greenbelt
