Home Instead sponsors Golden Age Foundation’s Walk & Roll-A-Thon


The Golden Age Foundation (GAF) is resurrecting its biggest fundraiser of the year, the 2024 Walk & Roll-A-Thon. Originally held in 1997, it will help raise money for the GAF while encouraging healthly and active lifestyles. The Walk & Roll-A-Thon will be held on Oct. 26, beginning in the Clubhouse 6 parking lot. Home Instead recently donated $1,000 to the GAF to sponsor the event.

The Sunshine Club will take a day trip to the California Science Exposition Center in Los Angeles on Nov. 4. Vanderwals celebrate 60 years


Cliff and Betty Vanderwal celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Sept. 3. The two were married in Pipestone, Minnesota, where they lived for a year before moving to California in 1965. Cliff and Betty lived in Lakewood, California, for 48 years, rasing their children. In 2015 they moved to Leisure World, where they currently reside in Mutual 11.
