Chess Club


The LW Chess Club meets every Friday in Clubhouse 3, Room 7, from 1-4:30 p.m. Beginners lessons are available. Keep Alzheimer’s and dementia at bay by practicing this strategy game, proven to improve short and long-term memory and critical thinking skills. Ahard working committee of club members has been busy planning for the Shuffleboard Club’s holiday party, to be held this Saturday, Dec. 13, from 5-9 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 1. The club will be supplying a ham for everyone’s enjoyment, while members will bring appetizers, salads, side dishes and desserts. The game Left Right Center will be played, so guests are reminded to bring three $1 bills

The LW Pickleball Club will host its quarterly meeting and celebrate the holiday season with an Italian themed potluck menu at Clubhouse 2, Dec. 14, at 6:30 p.m. Members are encouraged to consult the Team Reach web access portal to post their volunteer food prep preference and reservation. LW Pool Club wraps up the season with fi nal event

LW Pool Club wraps up the season with fi nal event


On Nov. 24, the LW Pool League held its sweepstakes, which is the final event of the season. In the sweepstakes, every team from the Monday league plays one game of eight-ball against every team in the Wednesday league. Since there are six teams in each league, every team played six games. Each team has three players, an A player, who is judged to be the strongest player, and a B and C player.

Twenty-four women participated in the weekly LW Women’s Golf Club tournament on Dec. 2. There was a chill in the air. Play for the day was low gross, low net, and circle hole on No. 6. Cribbage Club luncheon coming

Cribbage Club luncheon coming


The Cribbage Club meets every Tuesday at noon in Clubhouse 1. Refreshments are served from noon-12:15, and anyone arriving by 12:15 will be assured a place to play. Yearly dues are $5, collectable in January. All players pay $1 to play and those finishing in the top four scores will be awarded prize money the following week. A total of seven games are played each week. New players are welcome.
