On Nov. 24, the LW Pool League held its sweepstakes, which is the final event of the season. In the sweepstakes, every team from the Monday league plays one game of eight-ball against every team in the Wednesday league. Since there are six teams in each league, every team played six games. Each team has three players, an A player, who is judged to be the strongest player, and a B and C player.

Twenty-four women participated in the weekly LW Women’s Golf Club tournament on Dec. 2. There was a chill in the air. Play for the day was low gross, low net, and circle hole on No. 6. The Cribbage Club meets every Tuesday at noon in Clubhouse 1. Refreshments are served from noon-12:15, and anyone arriving by 12:15 will be assured a place to play. Yearly dues are $5, collectable in January. All players pay $1 to play and those finishing in the top four scores will be awarded prize money the following week. A total of seven games are played each week. New players are welcome.

The Leisure World Wine Lovers Club is sponsoring local favorite, South Side Jazz, on Monday, Dec. 15, from 6-8:30 p.m. at Clubhouse 4.
