If it’s Tuesday, that means the LW Women’s Golf Club has a nine hole tournament. Golfers are divided up in flights according to their handicap. Flight A has a low number for a handicap. Flight D has the highest number. Aug. 9 brought thirty-six women to the golf course. Play for the day was low gross, low net, and fewest putts. The LW Chess Club meets every Friday in Clubhouse 3, Room 7, from 1-4:30 p.m. Beginners lessons are available. Keep Alzheimer’s and dementia at bay by practicing this strategy game, proven to improve short and long-term memory and critical thinking skills.
