EMERGENCY DRILL As many LW residents know, “You’re On Your Own” in the event of an emergency disaster. As an initiative to minimize risk, ensure safety and reduce calamity, Boots on the Ground practice an emergency preparedness plan two times a year in April and September. On Sept. 18 at 10 a.m., the group will hold the second drill of the year, which will take approximately 30-40 minutes.

The most commonly lost items are keys and glasses, according to one Decal Office employee, but the office also collects purses, wallets, hearing aids, jewelry and more. Drivers must stop behind the white line at all stop signs and red lights. At the intersection of St. Andrews Drive and Golden Rain Road, a red light signals an upcoming pedestrian phase, and people will soon be crossing. Stopping past the white line can block their path and create a safety hazard.
