The LW Community Emergency Response Team (LW CERT) will hold a safety class on Friday, Sept. 26, at 9 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 9. The topic for the class this month is titled “Twelve Ways to Get Prepared” and will teach residents how to be ready to face any emergency or disaster, LW CERT President Catherine O’Brien will teach.

Carolyn Seitz of Mutual 3 cel- ebrated her 80th birthday early on Sept. 13 in a similar fashion as she has lived her life—by helping others. Seitz, born on Sept. 16, gathered friends and family from all over California and Texas in Clubhouse 3 to assemble 500 ham and cheese sandwiches and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the people of Orange County who are experiencing food insecu rity.
