LW couple celebrated 70 years together


LW residents Carl and Jonie Hatheway were married in Denver, Colorado, on March 6, 1953. Jonie was born in Madison, Wisconsin, and Carl was born in Oakland, California. Both of their families eventually moved to Denver, Colorado. Carl went to West High School and Jonie attended East High. After high school, Carl got a job with Western Electric and Jonie worked as an outward operator for Mountain

GAF receives annual donation from Seal Beach Cornerstone Church


Senior Pastor Peter Kang and church Elder Paul Im from Seal Beach Cornerstone Church donated $1,000 to Golden Age Foundation (GAF) to continue to help the community. Seal Beach Cornerstone Church has been a consistent donor since its founding in 2010, and the GAF appreciates its contribution. Seal Beach Cornerstone would like to continue to be a part of the community to support the GAF service program.

LW Korean Community Church’s donation will help sponsor GAF’s 50th anniversary celebration in April


Leisure World Korean Community Church (LWKCC) donated to the Golden Age Foundation (GAF) to help sponsor the GAF’s 50th anniversary celebration on Saturday, April 22, in Clubhouse 6, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The celebration will have bands playing throughout the event as well as a taco truck to serve food. The 50th anniversary celebration will display the GAF’s rich history with 20 posters,
