The next LW Community Emergency Response Team (LW CERT) will help residents learn ways to cope without power at the May 22 LW CERT safety class in Clubhouse 3, Room 9, starting at 9 a.m. Residents will find out how to utilize batteries, fuel and solar along with cooking a meal with candles. Those who have batteries that might not be fully charged can bring them to the class to be tested and learn about

GOLDEN AGE FOUNDATION EVENTS GAF cel ebrates successful tax season, donation event Three trucks were filled with someone’s future treasures from LW residents at the Golden Age Foundation’s (GAF) Salvation Army donation event on April 11 in the Amphitheater parking lot. GAF volunteers and Salvation Army employees received items for donation from 375 vehicles, equaling 9,375 pounds

The Emergency Buddy System, a group created and organized by residents of Mutual 2, recently held its first emergency drill at “Parcel A”, (one of its seven Emergency Parcels) with a select group of volunteers. The Emergency Buddy System invited Seal Beach Sgt. Brian Grey to introduce the Neighbor for Neighbor (N4N) program, which provides opportunities for neighbors to pool their talents

LEISURE WORLD LIONS CLUB The Produce Box Program, sponsored by the new Leisure World Lions Club, will distribute 12-pound boxes of fresh fruits and vegetables for $10 (cash only) today, April 23, at the Clubhouse 6 parking lot from 10 a.m.-noon. All residents, regardless of income are encouraged to participate. The Produce Box Program is held once a month on the fourth Thursday. Box contents
