SB LIONS CLUB
The SB Lions Club will sell 12-pound boxes of fresh produce for $10 cash on Thursday, Aug. 28, in the Clubhouse 6 parking lot from 10 a.m.-noon. Come get a box of fresh fruits and vegetables just in time for the Labor Day holiday.
All residents are encouraged to participate. There are no restrictions, no qualifications other than presenting a GRF ID card. Supplies are limited,

Sunshine Club
Dr. Monica P. Leff will give a presentation to the Sunshine Club about thriving after menopause on Friday, Aug. 8, in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 10 a.m.
This talk will cover what happens in the body after menopause and how to stay healthy and active in the years that follow with a deeper dive on hormones, bone and cardiac health. Leff will address common questions on all and provide practical tips.

Leisure World Cares Fund sets parameters for aid
The Leisure World Cares Fund introduced itself to the community at the June 27 Life Options Expo. Since then, there has been a lot of support expressed for its mission to help provide housing security to Leisure World’s most vulnerable.
Overwhelmingly, people want to know how the fund will ensure that the right residents will get the aid
Concerned Shareholders Club
On July 25, the Concerned Shareholders Club met in Clubhouse 3 to listen to a presentation by GRF Interim Executive Director Dave Potter.
Club members filled up Room 2 to listen to Potter introduce himself and his experience prior to coming to Leisure World in the fall of 2023 and assuming his current role earlier this year.

Humanist Association
The Leisure World Humanist Association will meet on Sunday, Aug. 3, in Clubhouse 3, Room 1, at 10:30 a.m.
Juan Bernal, author of “A Trek Through the Foothills of Philosophy” and “Philosophy in the Light and in the Shadows” will be the meeting’s guest speaker.
