Drivers have become dependent upon GPS to navigate unfamiliar routes. Unfortunately, the directions occasionally lead into a lake or wilderness, much to the bewilderment of the user. The same rule holds true with GPS as with maps: the directions are only as reliable as the accuracy of the information used to create them.
