Leisure World Baptist Church meets for worship on Sundays at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2. On Sunday, Oct. 11, the message will be about the Sermon on the Mount.

In this passage, Jesus tells his followers in The Sermon on the Mount that he came to fulfill the law. He closes the sermon with the story of the house on the rock.

The imagery harks back to Moses and the song of Moses. He calls Israel’s God “the God whose way is perfect, whose ways are all just, a God of faithfulness and without injustice.”

Moses provides even more detail about God’s greatness in the second half of his song, “God, the Rock, shows his great love for Israel and the world.”

God calls sinners to himself. He is their “Rock of Salvation.” God reminds sinners that salvation is found nowhere else but in him. God tell sinners that his word alone gives life.
