Club meets for music and dance on Sundays
LW ARIRANG CLUB
The LW Arirang Club meets Sundays from 4-7 p.m. upstairs in Clubhouse 6.
During each class, members practice Korean folk dance from 4-5 p.m.; janggu from 5-6 p.m.; and drumming from 6-7 p.m.
The club was founded to provide Leisure World residents with the opportunity to experience Arirang while learning to play and enjoy the janggu and drum instruments, both of which are a fun form of exercise.
Playing the janggu helps participants improve muscle coordination, memory and cognitive function. It promotes movement, coordination, concentration and emotional expression. Young Park is the leader of the club. She has over 30 years of teaching experience.
The class is primarily taught in English. Five members are non-Korean. Those interested should contact Young Park at 909-580-0590, or Joann Lim at 909-7625393.
