Hui O Hula: Hawaiian Dance Club Hui O Hula: Hawaiian Dance Club

Hula O Hula offers Hawaiian dance lessons on Tuesdays at 1 p.m. in the Clubhouse 6 upstairs Mirror Room, and Thursdays at 1 p.m. in the Optum Health Care Center conference room next to the pharmacy.

Wear comfortable clothing to class practice. Dancing barefoot is preferred, but soft booties or socks are fine.

Dancers are beginning to learn and review Christmas songs like “Mele Kalikimaka” and “Pō La’i Ē,” the Hawaiian version of “Silent Night.”

Recently, Hui O Hula entertained residents at Mom & Dad’s House, an assisted living community in Los Alamitos, helping close National Assisted Living Week, Sept. 1319, with a luau celebration. Hui O Hula extends a special mahalo to Ivonne Meader for inviting the dancers. An opportunity to share the spirit of aloha beyond Leisure World is always welcome.
