Democratic Club

The Leisure World Democratic Club welcomes back Chris Kluwe as its featured speaker Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 1:30 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2. Kluwe will discuss his strategy for the Nov. 3 general election for the 72nd District. Early arrival and brown bag lunches are welcome. Light snacks are available.

Volunteers are invited to join the Leisure World door-to-door canvassing push, starting with a campaign kickoff today, Sept. 17, in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at either the 10-11 a.m. or 1-2 p.m. session. Volunteers of all experience levels will receive full training, key materials and hands-on support to help maximize Democratic voter participation. The Hospitality Booth will be open every Tuesday in September and every Tuesday and Thursday in October from 10:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. Club members will be there to help answer questions, register to vote, update address, or change party affiliation. The Voter Education series will not meet in September, but the group will continue postcarding. Bev Bender has 300 postcards and addresses for Texas. People can email beverleybender@gmail. com or call 951-334-9730 to receive the cards and addresses that they can write at their leisure.

Members are encouraged to sign up for the club’s newsletter by Gail Winkles. She outlines propositions in an easy, understandable manner along with reference links. For more information, contact Winkles at swageg8@gmail.com.
