The Leisure World Cares Fund speaker series will continue on Sept. 14 in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 11 a.m. The event will feature a video presentation followed by an open period for questions.

The intended outcome for the meeting is for older adults living alone on fixed incomes to find a new roadmap for financial peace. The video titled “How Seniors Can Afford to Live Alone on a Fixed Income” offers honest advice on making ends meet without constant stress. The presentation avoids empty clichés. Instead, it shares real habits, daily systems and mindset shifts. People can learn how to cover housing, food and bills while keeping enough cash for personal joy.

The core message is simple: fixed income does not mean living in fear. This guide proves that living alone is possible without sacrificing every fun part of life. During the question-and-answer period, LW Cares Fund directors will share tips learned about how to save from their interactions with those who have applied for fund’s assistance. Examples include applying for MediCal, SCE’s CARE plan and the city of Seal Beach’s utility tax exemption programs. There will also be information on creating a will and trust at no cost as well as on-site, low-cost food box programs.

Donations to the Fund support monthly financial subsidies to Leisure World residents struggling on fixed incomes. One-time or recurring monthly donations can be made at www.lwcaresfund. org. For more information, or to have a donation picked up, email lwcares@lwcaresfund.org or call 562-262-8280.
