The Leisure World Lions Club rolled up their sleeves on Aug. 18, to beautify the community’s outdoor spaces with a successful bike path cleanup along the access path that runs from Leisure World’s North Gate to the San Gabriel River bike path.

Eight dedicated volunteers from the club spent their morning clearing litter and debris to ensure the trail remains safe, clean, and welcoming for local cyclists and walkers. Thanks to their hard work, the team successfully collected 11 large bags of trash. In addition to the standard litter, the volunteers pulled several large, hazardous items from the trail area, including various discarded car parts, a hubcap, plastic under-car engine covers, shredded pieces of tires, and stray blocks of wood.

The Leisure World Lions Club extends a heartfelt thank you to the volunteers who gave their time and energy to protect the local environment. This project is just one of many ways the Lions Club continues to serve and improve the LW community.

Those who are interested in serving their community can join the Leisure World Lions Club as a new member. The next meeting will be held Thursday, Sept. 3, at 11 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 8.
