Documentary about Christian nationalism to be screened

Seniors for Peace will meet on Thursday, Sept. 3, at 2 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 1. The group will screen the documentary film “Bad Faith,” which explores how Christian nationalism has become a powerful anti-democratic force in the United States, with an ability to destroy democracy from within. Secular and interfaith leaders are joining forces to defend the country from this march to fascism, but many Americans seem to be unaware of the threat, according to the 2024 documentary.

The film explores the idea that Christian nationalism has skillfully seduced tens of millions of conservative Evangelicals into following its authoritarian ideology. The intent is to construct a theocracy that enshrines white, conservative Christians as the elite governing leaders of a future America.
