LW Democratic Club’s hospitality booth will be open every Tuesday in September, and every Tuesday and Thursday in October from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The club anticipates that there will be many questions surrounding the upcoming election and wants to be as available as possible. For more information, contact Rachael Lehmberg at rlehmberg815@gmail.com.
The momentum behind the LW Democratic Club’s current fundraiser has been nothing short of inspiring, thanks to the generous community. The support drives real, tangible progress that directly backs local operations and can power endorsed candidates to victory. The fundraising campaign wraps up in mid-September, which means there is still time to make an impact. For more information, contact Bev Bender at Beverleybender@gmail.com.
Club members plan to hit the pavement canvassing for the upcoming election. The club plans for this year to be its biggest, most energized, and most effective door-todoor drive ever. The kick off canvassing meeting will be on Sept. 9, when volunteers will receive instructions and collect the paperwork necessary to get started. The two sessions will be held from 10:30-11:30 a.m. and 1:30-2:30 p.m., in Clubhouse 3. Those who are looking for a fun, meaningful way to make a difference, are encouraged to volunteer to canvass. For more information, contact janebrittingham51@gmail.com
or kmoran97@yahoo.com, for more information.
LW Democratic residents and those who have registered as no party preference will be receiving a postcard this year instead of the usual letter with candidate, proposition and voter information.
The club’s next Voter Education session will be held on Sept. 9. The club is currently making postcards with Bev Bender to help James Talarico flip a Senate seat in Texas and for Jon Ossoff to keep his Senate seat in Georgia.
For more information on how, where and when to pick up postcards contact from the club, email Bender at beverleybender@ gmail.com
Members are encouraged to sign up for the club’s newsletter by Gail Winkles. She outlines propositions in an easy, understandable manner along with reference links. For more information, contact Winkles at swageg8@gmail.com.
The Lunch Bunch will meet at the Hof ’s Hut off Seal Beach Boulevard at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2. It provides an opportunity for members to enjoy a good meal, great conversation, and share the company of like-minded friends and neighbors. For more information, contact Debbie Wrathall at Debbiewrathall@mac.com.
