Denise Potterton 1952–2026

Denise Potterton, 73, of Leisure World in Seal Beach, California, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026.

She was born Aug. 24, 1952, in New Jersey, later raised her children in Colorado, and made her home in Seal Beach, where she spent many happy years.

Denise served for years as president of Mutual 1, bringing a sharp mind and steady hand to the role. She founded a women’s walking group, was an avid member of a Mahjong group and game group, and loved 1,000-piece puzzles. She cherished hiking trips to the Bolsa Chica Wildlife Refuge and its birds, gardening, and adored her rescue cats.

Denise is survived by her two daughters and one son, and her six grandchildren.

She was dearly loved and will be missed.
