Annual Poppy Drive is on Sept. 3

Members of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #327 will be stationed at the Amphitheater on Sept. 3 to hand out red poppies during the highly anticipated Beatles tribute concert. This volunteer-led initiative aims to raise vital funds for local veterans while honoring the sacrifices of those who served in the United States Armed Forces.

The red poppy has served as an international symbol of military remembrance since World War I. Inspired by the famous wartime poem “In Flanders Fields,” these handmade flowers symbolize the blood shed by service members protecting national freedoms. All donations collected by Unit #327 during the concert will go directly into the American Legion Auxiliary Poppy Program. All funds are dedicated to assisting veterans, active-duty military members, and their families with critical healthcare, financial aid, and community housing needs.

Concertgoers are encouraged to visit the Auxiliary’s table before the music starts. By wearing a poppy, attendees can proudly display their gratitude for the veteran community while singing along to timeless rock-and-roll classics.
