Sunshine Club

GRF Physical Property Manager Kevin Black will speak to the Sunshine Club on Friday, July 31, in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 10 a.m. Refreshments will be served.

During the meeting, Black will speak to residents about his role in the community and the responsibilities of the Physical Property Department. He brings a wealth of experience, having started his career with the Golden Rain Foundation in January 1993 as a plumber in the Service Maintenance Department. While he was one of six plumbers, he frequently contributed to other areas, including electrical, carpentry, concrete and street repair.

In 2003, Black moved to the Physical Property Department as a physical property inspector, which allowed him to work more closely with the community and shareholders.

Today, as Physical Property manager, Black oversees all inspectors and manages a range of responsibilities including:

• Code compliance and permit processing.

• Safety inspections and assessments.

• Oversight of both new construction and repair work (interior and exterior).

• Preparing project specifications and bid packets.

• Coordinating Mutual and GRF construction projects. Black will also discuss his extensive involvement in major community improvement projects and how the department works to enhance the quality of life at Leisure World.

He currently holds an International Code Council California Building Inspector License and a C-36 Plumbing License from the California Contractors State License Board.

All shareholders are welcome to join the meeting. The Sunshine Club requires no membership fees, but donations are appreciated. People are asked to arrive promptly to the meeting. Those who are late should quietly use the back door as not to disturb the presentation.
