LW Cares Fund

The Leisure World Cares Fund hosted Nancy Genter and her team from JAR Insurance Services in Cerritos on July 20. Genter and the team gave an overview of the benefits to low-income Medicare enrollees to add Medi-Cal, which provides additional benefits. One of those additional benefits is that Medi-Cal pays the Medicare Part B premium, which saves enrollees $202 per month. Genter also touched on in-home supportive services and other caregiving services that may be available.

The potential savings is almost equivalent to the $200 per month cash subsidy that is offered by the Leisure World Cares Fund to help residents on fixed incomes afford HOA fees. To apply for the income subsidy, contact the fund at lwcares@lwcaresfund.org or 562-262-8280.
