The LW Democratic Club welcomed Chris Kluwe, candidate fortheDistrict72State Assembly, as its guest speaker at the July 22 membership meeting. As a familiar face and friend of the Leisure World Democratic Club, Kluwe received a warm welcome from a packed house before sharing key updates on his campaign.

He spoke passionately about his commitment to protecting California’s environment, advancing universal healthcare access and fighting for working families.

After taking questions from members, he challenged all of the club to get involved in the upcoming election, reminding people that democracy works best when everyday citizens actively participate.

The club thanks those who have already contributed to the club’s fundraiser. The donations power the club’s work: from supporting the Democratic Party of Orange County and its endorsed candidates, to keeping the LW club’s daily operations running smooth. The fundraiser continues to mid-September, so people can still donate.

Chris Duncan, candidate for California State Senate District 36, will be the LW Democratic Club’s featured guest speaker on Wednesday, Aug. 26, at 1:30 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2. People are welcome to arrive early and bring a lunch; light snacks will be provided. Duncan bring yard signs for those who are interested.
