Fun With Fashion Club
The Fun with Fashion Club will meet Monday, Aug. 10, in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 6 p.m. for a pajama party.
At the club’s July 13 meeting, laughter filled the air as people shared stories about everything summer: sunburns, bathing suits and cover-ups, mishaps and more, including sauna experiences and ice baths. Fashion stylist Theresa Metzler gave a PowerPoint presentation showing pictures of how a bathing suit can emphasize different parts of the body and de-emphasize other parts.
Brenda Thomason talked about the benefits of water aerobics and the use of a jacuzzi regularly. These benefits include pain relief, muscle relaxation, sinus relief and more. The mental benefits of using a jacuzzi also include stress reduction. The Cleveland Clinic and Healthline recommends limiting jacuzzi soak time to 10-15 minutes at max temperatures to prevent dangerous blood pressure drops or dizziness.
Camille Dull suggested folks invite wonder into their summer vacation experience and to feed one’s spirit by pondering the vastness of the ocean and the endless waves. At the poolside, she recommended allowing one’s mind to focus on the now of being there, listening to the sounds of the world.
After participating in an organized beach cleanup, Dull shared that she now carries a bag and tongs for picking up trash when she walks on the beach. She noted how much can be done when each person does a bit of good for the planet.
