LW Pool Club
On June 27, the LW Pool Club held its annual 10-ball tournament. There were 12 two-person teams playing seven rounds against a different opponent, with teammates alternating shots.
Ten-ball is like nine ball, but more difficult. As in nine ball, players must shoot the lowest numbered ball on the table, but in 10-ball they have to call the pocket for each ball.
After three rounds, Jeffrey Furlong and Gary Monahan led with three wins, but they lost their next two games. After five rounds, Steve Edrich and Connie Atkins were tied for the lead with Ren Villanueva and Frank Sablan, with four wins and one loss.
Furlong and Monahan won their last two games, while Edrich, Atkins, Villanueva and Sablan split their last two games. This resulted in a three-way tie for first place. Usually there is a playoff if there is a tie for first, but this time the players agreed to split the prize money three ways.
