LW Korean Community Church Choir participates in two concerts to raise money for scholarships
LW Korean Community Church (LWKCC) holds a worship service every Sunday at 11:30 a.m. in the sanctuary at 14000 Church Place. The early morning prayer service is held in the sanctuary at 6 a.m. Tuesday-Saturday.
On Sunday, June 28, the church will discuss the Korean War, which broke out 72 years ago. The reality of war often unfolds amidst a vast disparity between the strong and the weak, much like the story of David and Goliath.
David did not rely on visible might. He boldly stepped forward, proclaiming in faith that “salvation belongs to the Lord, and the battle belongs to the Lord.” God saw his faith, granted him victory, and preserved Israel’s freedom. The principles for preventing war and achieving peace are: cherishing peace and harmony as the most precious values, upholding justice and righteousness, showing compassion and love to neighbors, and possessing the humility to examine and repent of their own faults.
On June 22, the LWKCC choir attended the Orange County Korean Christian Association’s United Sacred Choir Festival. The charity concert was organized to provide scholarships for the children of missionaries. Ten choirs gathered to praise God through their voices. For the finale, all the choirs took the stage together to sing the “Hallelujah Chorus.”
LWKCC also held its own charity concert, the 12th annual Siloam Charity Concert to support vision restoring surgeries for the visually impaired on June 14.
This concert was organized to raise funds for vision-restoring surgeries and care to the visually impaired and those unable to afford treatment. The concert brought together 11 groups, Pastor Kim Sun-tae (who traveled from Korea), and approximately 800 attendees.
Pastor Sun-tae lost his eyesight during his youth but refused to give up. He later answered God’s call to become a pastor and established a visionrestoring ministry. Pastor Kim expressed his gratitude, stating, “Even amidst the hardships and struggles of life, the praise we offer together—fueled by the agape love of Jesus Christ— moves the heart of Almighty God and bestows comfort, hope, dreams, and joy upon souls weary from life’s burdens.”
