The Leisure World Humanist Club will meet on Sunday, June 7, at 10:30 a.m., Clubhouse 3, Room 1, with guest speaker Robert Richert.

Richert will discuss an important issue to the club with a presentation tiled “How can Humanists and Freethinkers more effectively communicate their messages?”

Humanism is a positive philosophy that affirms the dignity of all people and advocates for universally accepted values. Humanist and Freethought organizations are working hard to bring their message to the greater public, and dispel negative myths about their beliefs. However, the responsibility also rests upon each person at the local level. Richert, with the aid of PowerPoint, will offer insights and advice about how individual club members can help to advance the cause. Richert has been involved with the Freethought movement for over 40 years. He has written many articles and given numerous talks on issues related to the movement. Richert is an accomplished public speaker and award-winning author. His latest book, “Apple Pie Atheist,” is part memoir and part commentary on Freethought subjects. It is available through Amazon Books.
