American Latino Club

The American Latino Club will meet on Thursday, May 14, in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, from 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. This month the club will honor the country of Paraguay by watching a video on the country’s customs and history.

During the meeting, two guest speakers from Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company will provide a brief and informative presentation about a smart, tax-efficient strategy for gifting money to grandchildren as a legacy.

Club members will also discuss and vote on a candidate for club secretary.

The club lunch will be from Aji Verde Peruvian Restaurant in Paramount. The meal choices are Lomo Saltado, sautéed beef mixed with onions, tomatoes, and French fries served with white rice; Saltado de Pollo, sautéed chicken mixed with onions, tomatoes, and French fries served with white rice or; Saltado de Mariscos, sautéed seafood mixed with onions, tomatoes, and French fries, served with rice. Each option includes aguadito-cilantro chicken soup, dessert and beverage.

The cost for lunch is $22 for members and $25 for guests. Meal payments and lunch choices are due no later than 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 10. People can submit payment and meal choice to club Treasurer Rachel Fullum by dropping it off in her mailbox at 1371 Oakmont Road 150-L, Seal Beach, CA, 90740. Call 310-869-7730 for more information. The club welcomes all guests; however, it cannot guarantee guest meals unless they are ordered properly. The club does not order extra meals.

The club will be adding a new segment, show and tell to its meeting. In celebration of Mother’s Day, attendees are encouraged to share a favorite mom story that is 5 -10 minutes long maximum. The club will also hold bingo and Loteria games for friends and neighbors to enjoy while at the meeting.
