JOYFUL LINE DANCE

The Joyful Line Dance Club meets on Thursdays in Clubhouse 2 from 10 a.m.-noon. Typically, Albert Comia leads the first hour of the class for beginners. After a break, Karen Kei teaches more advanced routine.

On March 26, due to Kei’s unavailability, Comia taught the entire two-hour class with the help of some more experienced dancers.

Starting off with “Elvira” for beginners, members advanced to “Achy Breaky Heart,” “Mamma Maria,” “Mambo Italiano,” “Kiss Me” and other dances. Everyone had a wonderful time.

People must be members of the club to take classes. Annual membership is $20 and cannot be prorated. Exercise shoes are recommended.

For information, contact Anna Derby at 562-301-5339.

A few more experienced members of the club stepped in to give Albert Comia a hand in leading a two-hour dance class.
