Recap: Whale Watching Trip
Leisure World residents enjoyed a beautiful day on the water during a community whale watching trip on March 25, departing from Long Beach Harbor.
The group headed out via boat along the Southern California coastline in search of marine wildlife.
The excursion quickly delivered unforgettable sights, including a large pod of common dolphins that swam alongside the boat—delighting passengers as they surfaced and raced through the water— a fin whale, the second largest whale on Earth. The massive animal surfaced near the vessel, offering a rare opportunity to observe one of the ocean’s giants in its natural environment.
The Recreation Department looks forward to offering more excursions that allow residents to explore and enjoy the natural beauty of Southern California.
