LW Baptist
LW Baptist Church will meet for worship on Easter Sunday, April 5, at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2.
Every Sunday celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ at LW Baptist Church, but especially Easter Sunday, because it occurs at Passover, when Jesus had foretold that he would lay down his life as the Passover Lamb and on the third day rise again. On that third day, Jesus appeared first to Mary Magdalene and then to the other women, also to Peter and a man named Cleopas with his companion, and then to the apostles and others who were gathered in the upper room.
In the days following that Resurrection Sunday, Jesus appeared to the apostles and Thomas, then ate with seven of his apostles, and after met with 500 believers all gathered together on a mountain in Galilee. The Bible also says that Jesus appeared during that time to James, his half-brother, and on the 40th day, Jesus gathered his followers to the Mount of Olives where he ascended bodily into heaven in full view of his disciples.
After the Mount of Olives, the apostle John later writes that during his exile on the Isle of Patmos, Jesus appeared to him and gave him a message for the church, saying “Fear not; I am the first and the last and the living one. I died and behold I Am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and Hades.”
