Fund helps 23 LWers make their bills
LEISURE WORLD CARES

As of April 1, a total of 23 residents are receiving $200-permonth awards from the Leisure World Cares Fund to help them manage their housing costs. Those receiving the awards submitted applications and were confidentially interviewed in a brief two-week process resulting in awards that will last for 12 months. That amount of aid turns out to be meaningful to the fund’s typical client who is on a fixed income and whose HOA fees have risen well past 50% of their income. The thank you notes they have sent speak for themselves: “Thank you for your kindness in helping me to pay my HOA monthly bill. You all are an answer to my prayer.” “I can’t tell you how much this takes off a lot of the stress associated with me managing my finances. It has improved the quality of my life.” “Much gratitude to the Leisure World Cares Fund, a true gift to our community.” “All of you are to be commended for your heartfelt generosity to strangers.”
Additional applicants are welcome. More recipients will be added on a monthly basis going forward as long as residents apply and donations continue to be available.
Help filling out the application is available for the asking. Application forms can be dropped off and donations can be picked up if that is more convenient.
