Chris Kluwe, the Democratic candidate for Assembly District 72, was the guest speaker for the LW Democratic Club’s membership meeting on Feb. 25, drawing a capacity crowd. Kluwe, known for his professional athletic career as a punter for UCLA and the Minnesota Vikings, discussed everything from his journey on the gridiron to his current mission for the 72nd District. He spoke to members about his vision for the future and his plan to hold truth to power. Kluwe engaged his audience by enthusiastically answering every question.
The LW Democratic Club, alongside the Seniors for Peace Club, will take part in Indivisible’s “No Thrones, No Crowns, No Kings” demonstration on March 28 under the LW globe.
The club will host a “No Kings” sign-making event on Saturday, March 14, at 1 p.m., Clubhouse 3, in either Room 1 or 2. The club will provide the basics, but encourages everyone to bring materials to share and keep things sustainable by using large, flattened cardboard boxes to create signs.
People can also join the weekly demonstration under the LW globe every Saturday from 2-3 p.m.
The Democratic Hospitality Booth is open the first Tuesday and third Thursday of each month outside Clubhouse 6 from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
