Valentine’s dance brings groovy ’60s to CH 2
Clubhouse 2 was transformed into a swinging slice of the 1960s on Feb. 14 as the GRF Recreation Department hosted its annual Valentine’s Day dinner dance with a colorful and high energy ‘60s theme.
Residents arrived dressed to impress in bell bottoms, tie-dye, miniskirts and mod inspired outfits. The festive atmosphere set the tone for an evening filled with great food, music and community spirit.
Guests enjoyed a hearty Salisbury steak dinner prepared by Country Garden Caterers, providing classic comfort fare to fuel a lively night on the dance floor. The event was proudly sponsored by Gasper Monteer Realty Group, whose team welcomed attendees at the greeting table and added to the fun with thoughtful touches throughout the evening.
Carol Gasper and Nick Monteer provided homemade cookies and goody bags for participants and hosted drawings for two gift baskets, each featuring a $100 gift card. The floral table centerpieces were also raffled off, with one lucky winner at each table taking home a decorative reminder of the evening.
Entertainment was provided by Beach St. A GoGo!, whose six piece band delivered a nonstop lineup of chart topping hits from the 1960s. Featuring favorites made famous by The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Elvis Presley, Motown legends and beloved girl groups, the band kept the dance floor packed. By focusing on No. 1 and Top 10 Billboard hits, Beach St. A GoGo! created an energetic and sing-alongfriendly soundtrack that had residents twisting, clapping and smiling all night long.
Complimentary photos, drawings and giveaways added to the celebration, making it a memorable Valentine’s evening for everyone in attendance.
With its vibrant theme, enthusiastic crowd and sold out energy, this year’s Valentine’s Day dinner dance proved once again that the spirit of the ‘60s, and community, is alive and well in Leisure World.
