LW Korean Community Church

Senior pastor Jang Young Yong began LW Korean Community Church’s (LWKCC) worship service on Feb. 15 with a sermon on the sign at Mount Tabal, found in Mark 9:2-8.

The most significant event in Jesus’ coming was his baptism. At the time, circumcision was a sign indicating the chosen ones, but through Jesus’ baptism, God’s promise was revealed. The gates of heaven opened, with the proclamation, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.”

Like the disciples chosen by Jesus, Christians are chosen. They are witnesses of heaven, and receive God’s guidance and experience the joy of heaven.

Like the disciples, believers must believe in the divinity of Jesus, acknowledge the absoluteness of his word, and confess Jesus as Lord, as recorded in 1 John: “Whoever believes in Him who sent me has eternal life.”

Pastor Yong concluded his sermon by saying that believers must not neglect what they have seen, heard and received, and must always pray and spread the gospel of God.

LWKCC worships service every Sunday at 11:30 a.m. and holds early morning prayer at the sanctuary led by the senior pastor at 6 a.m. Tuesday-Saturday. The church is located next to St. Andrews Gate at 14000 Church Place. For more information, call 714-323-0897, or email tyongjang10@gmail.com.
