First Christian Church
First Christian Church teaches from God’s word, the Holy Bible, verse by verse. It is a friendly church, joining in worship and exploring God’s word together, “That we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine,” Romans 1:12.
Pastor’s Message
Romans 13:1-7 brought centuries of discourse regarding the governing authorities and what is required of believers regarding subjection to them. The apostle Paul wrote, “There is no authority except from God and those which exist are established by God.” These were the words of Jesus when he was before Pilate. Jesus told Pilate that he only had authority to condemn him because God had given that authority. Whoever resists authority opposes the sovereignty of God. It is the responsibility of all people to obey governing authorities, especially for believers, who are required to answer to an even higher authority. It is a matter of trusting that God always has the wellbeing of his children in mind.
