Membership chair key to success
SHUFFLEBOARD CLUB
Most Shuffleboard Club members know Patty Peterson, membership chair, and her lovely smile. She has either introduced herself when someone expresses an interest in the club, or she has gathered all the information the club needs from a new member. She has also chased after members to pay their dues. She does all of these things in a friendly and delightful way and keeps the membership lists up-to-date for the club president.
Currently there are approximately 90 Shuffleboard Club members. People can join the club to play in leagues or as substitutes, or as only social members who come to the many parties the club holds around holidays as well as the popular summer barbecue. Robert Zellner, one of the newer members, said he joined through his friend Karen Powell, a current member. He explained he is still working so doesn’t have time for league play but has substituted on occasion and likes it. He added, “I’m getting the hang of it,” and hopes to play more regularly in the future.
