made greeting cards and her love of needlework. Her grandmother taught her tatting (lacemaking using a shuttle), which, along with crocheting, were favorite pastimes.

With a spirit as active as her mind, Walton enjoyed scenic bicycle rides with the Leisure World Bike Group. Among her memorable achievements were riding 100 miles in one day on bike lanes in Orange County and a bike tour to England. In her later years, she could be seen zipping around the Mutual in her golf cart.

“While we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the love, wisdom, and kindness she imparted on those fortunate enough to have known her. She has left a remarkable legacy, and her memory will continue to inspire us,” said a message from her family.

She is survived by her daughter Lois Russell, son M. Keith Walton and grandchildren Dennis Lees, Jesse Walton, and Ayla Volmer. Ella was predeceased by her beloved husband, John Wesley Walton.
