••• Judith “Judie” Louise (Jacobus) Davis Celebration of Life After a nearly two year battle with endometrial carcinoma, the Lord called Judie Davis home on Dec. 23, 2025. We had gotten her well enough to leave the hospital and into hospice care in her Leisure World apartment. She was attended by a hospice nurse and her husband Dan in her last hours. He was caressing her cheek when she drew her last breath and died peacefully.
It is hard to capture her wonderful spirit in words, but her quality was so much greater than a mere list or her many accomplishments. Lady Judith is much more accurately illuminated by her gracious heart, her loving aura, and her joy in living in this world, always holding on to Jesus’ hand and following the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Kind and civil, even to those who vexed her with their intransigence, her love radiated in a way that found immediate trust and love from both small children and animals of every kind. That did not deter her from applying “tough love.”
She is survived by her husband, Dan; three stepdaughters, four step grandchildren; and numerous cousins from both the Jacobus and Lacy families. All of them loved her dearly and were happy to call her “family.”
As her faith was strong, those of us who knew her best are quite certain she is with the Good Lord and with her Dad and Mom. We know that she cannot be replaced in our lives, but we rejoice that we were graced by her presence. Every day with her was a treasure.
A memorial service for Judie will be held on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 11 a.m. at Cornerstone Church Long Beach, 1000 N. Studebaker Road, Long Beach, California.
