Democratic Club

The SBLW Democratic Club will host Assembly candidate Chris Kluwe on Wednesday, Feb. 25, in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 1:30 p.m.

Kluwe, candidate for the California State Assembly (District 72), is a former NFL punter and prominent civil rights advocate. He will discuss his 2026 legislative platform and his commitment to protecting public institutions. Members and guests are invited to arrive as early as 12:45 p.m. to socialize; light refreshments will be provided.

Indivisible’s next “No Kings” day is March 28, titled “No Thrones, No Crowns, No King.” The group will release the event map soon, with more protests in more places. On its website, Indivisible states, “A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events.”

LWers can join the group of protestors every Saturday (weather permitting), from 2-3 p.m. under the LW globe.

The Democratic Hospitality Booth is open on the first Tuesday and third Thursday of each month outside Clubhouse 6 from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Join the lunch bunch at Hof ’s Hut off Seal Beach Boulevard at 11:30 a.m. on the first Wednesday of each month. The next lunch will be March 4. For more information, email Debbie Wrathall at Debbiewrathall@mac.com.

The next Voter Education session is March 11, at 10:30 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 3. Postcarding and telephoning are planned. For more information, email beverleybender@ gmail. com. Voter Education Sessions are the second Wednesday of each month.
